Hootsuite alternative
Chirpy vs Hootsuite
Hootsuite is a broad social media suite built for organizations that need listening, inbox automation and enterprise controls, and it prices each user separately. Chirpy is built around making the posts: it learns your brand from your website, writes and designs the content, publishes it and sorts the comments, with one price per plan. Which one fits depends on how your team works and how many people need a seat.
Which one fits you
Chirpy fits better if
- A small team, an agency or a solo marketer who wants one price instead of a price per seat.
- You need the posts written and designed, not only scheduled.
- You want each client or brand to have its own Brand Kit, built from its website.
Hootsuite fits better if
- You need social listening and trend forecasting as part of the same subscription.
- Your organization needs single sign-on, custom compliance or an Enterprise contract.
- You run a large customer care team that needs messages assigned and routed automatically.
Per-user pricing vs one price per plan
Hootsuite's pricing page says each plan is priced per user, per month. Its FAQ gives Standard at $99, Professional at $199 and Advanced at up to $399, with the displayed prices based on annual billing. At the Standard rate, a team of five comes to $495 a month before any add-ons.
Chirpy charges one price per plan. Teams is $299 a month and includes 5 users, unlimited social accounts and unlimited Brand Kits. If you work alone, Basic starts at $49 a month with 5 social accounts.
Where Hootsuite is the stronger tool
Hootsuite's plans are built for larger social teams. Standard already includes brand and competitor monitoring. Professional adds inbox automation and trend forecasting up to 90 days ahead. Enterprise adds advanced listening, single sign-on and custom compliance. If listening and customer care at scale are the job, Hootsuite covers more of it than Chirpy does.
Where Chirpy is different
Chirpy starts before the calendar. Point it at a website and the AI Brand Kit Wizard sets up the brand's voice, colors and audience. From there, Chirpy writes captions, designs posters, carousels and product photos in AI Image Studio and Photoshoot, and makes short videos with AI Video on Advanced and up. You approve the result and it publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X and Pinterest.
For agencies, Teams adds team workspaces, roles and approval workflows, so a client signs off before anything goes live, and brand reporting exports client reports as PDF or Excel. On Max and Teams, Ask Chirpy can plan a week of posts, draft replies or build a monthly client report from a plain request, and waits for your approval before anything publishes.

Questions
It depends on team size. Hootsuite prices per user, and its pricing page lists Standard at $99 per user a month on annual billing. Chirpy prices per plan: Basic is $49 a month for one user, and Teams is $299 a month with 5 users included. For a team of five, five Standard seats at that rate come to $495 a month, and Chirpy Teams is $299.
No. Chirpy has Brand Analyser and competitor insights on Advanced and up, and Community sorts the comments on your own posts, but it is not a listening suite. If you need to track brand mentions across the web, Hootsuite covers more of that.
Yes, on Teams. Approval workflows, team workspaces and roles are part of the Teams plan, which includes 5 users. Nothing publishes in Chirpy until it is approved.
Yes. Connect your social accounts to Chirpy, let it build a Brand Kit from your website, then plan the next month in Campaigns. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial and no credit card, so you can run both side by side before you decide.
